1st Logo
(December 22, 1977)

Logo: On a marble background, we see some pinging stars forming a constellation. Then, the Golden Gate logo (a capital G with a smaller G inside it and filmstrip holes at the right corner) in yellow with a shadow zooms in, making the stars disappear. It zooms out to the left. On the right side, the company name in Chinese zooms from the bottom with the English name (and a smaller ''PRODUCTION'' downside it).

FX/SFX: The choppy animation.

Music/Sounds: A screeching fanfare.

Availability: Seen on The Golden Gate (a.k.a. The Brightening Day).

Editor's Note: The choppiness of the logo accompanying the bombastic fanfare could scare most. The zooming G doesn't help matters.

2nd Logo
(1978)

Logo: Same as before, but the background has been changed into an abstract blue tunnel (with decreasing rectangular shapes on the vertical sides), and the Golden Gate logo draws itself instead of zooming in.

Variant: In VHS prints of Young Lovers, the logo was stretched up to fit into 4:3.

FX/SFX: Again, choppy animation.

Music/Sounds:

  • In Birds Are Singing Everywhere, it's silent.
  • In Young Lovers, there is a dramatic fanfare that would be used in the next logo.

Availability: Appeared on Birds Are Singing Everywhere and Young Lovers.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo
(July 4, 1979; August 27, 1981)

Logo: On a black background, several outlines of the Golden Gate logo (without filmstrip holes) in red, cyan and green zooming out by trail effects from the right-corner. Then, the regular logo fills in a reddish tint, and the English (in Microgramma Bold font) and Chinese names wipe from left and right, respectively, and the ''PRESENTS" text pops in (all them in cyan).

Variant: In The Choice of Love, the logo have a slight green-tone.

FX/SFX: The zooming, the trails and the wiping.

Music/Sounds: The fanfare used in the Young Lovers variant of the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on The Choice of Love and The Women Soldiers.

Editor's Note: The animation is still simple, but not as rushed as the previous logos.
