I've been gone for well over 2 months, and this is what I come back to. The new rule contains that you will delete any image that does not contain descriptions. Now this goes against what the wiki stands for. And I am fumed with anger that this is a new rule. I'd like to talk to any of the admins here. Or anyone who also agrees or disagrees with this rule, I'm spreading my opinion, and I hope you accept it, whether you agree or disagree, I do not care your opinion is yours. But I would love this rule to be tooken down. And I do not care if you're an admin or not, I do not see you as a Supreme deity. Or as a God. If you abuse your power as admin, you will do not deserve such title. Anyways talk to me, I see you as a normal human, so please tell me some information about this rule so we can all move on. And this page is supposed to express what we love the most. My little brother has been forced to put descriptions. On his centron logo finds. And if this is bugging my brother, it also bugs me. |

And what's wrong with having to add descriptions to the pages? It's a Wiki; the point of it is to keep everything updated on logo information. That's what the Wiki is. And it really doesn't look good when you have pictures of variants, but no info on what the logo is like or even where it come from. And in worst cases, those pictures can even become logo mysteries. I don't expect to be treated like a god because I'm not one. But you still need to follow what we say. We have these rules for a good reason. And if you or your brother can't handle that, then you can both leave. Otherwise, just help us maintain the integrity of the site and the descriptions. It's not asking too much. Now I don't want to see anymore whining here, clear? |

I am not whining here, but just spreading my opinion. We don't really need logo information, though. We don't really need descriptions for the logos. We just need the description for the pages. C l g wiki also known as closing logo group. I just really think it would save people the time on this page. Since now word summer break, it is a time to relax and do other stuff and not worry about a description over a logo. Anyways, some things and your paragraph made me rethink. But I still stand for what I stand for maybe me and you can do in negotiation. Cause my brother was forced out of his retirement |

Agreed with Matt. Many problems and mysteries stemming from the old WF days can be traced to unspecified captures (TAT, KingWorld eagle, blurry PBS P-Head). |

1. Correct me if I'm wrong but this rule applies to new images uploaded after the rule was instated. We are not wiping out every image from the wiki uploaded before now that doesn't have a description. This rule helps to make sure captures are genuine. 2. How hard is it to simply just type in "This capture was taken from [source name/type]" in the description box while uploading??? This isn't a herculean task by any means. I know this rule kinda came out of nowhere, but I genuinely don't understand why that aspect upsets you. Even if you forget the name of where you got it from, you can simply say "I forgot where I got this but this came off a full movie on YouTube" or something like that. |

I think it was probably how this rule came with no prior announcement that's at least in part upsetting OP. Honestly, while I do like the idea behind the rule and can manage handling adding sources to my images, I have to admit that I don't really like how the rule was suddenly announced and implemented with no prior announcement or other communication with the community about it, no offense. |

And I do want to add any picture that doesn't have a description on the logo description page won't automatically be deleted on sight. I'm planning to make a thread soon on a few I found and I have questions about it. But I do want people to do the best they can to answer where they come from. If you don't remember, it's fine. But if you get it and upload it on the page, it needs a description. Just trying to keep the Wiki as concise and accurate as possible. To try and return it back to the old days where we kept on top of things. And granted I haven't been active too much on here since the site moved from WF to here, but even then I have talked several times before about putting descriptions on there. I've been wanting to make this a rule for a long time. And I felt like I shouldn't have to go that far, but things forced my hand. Though with my lack of activity for some time might make things jarring, rest assured, I do try to run the show and want this to be the best possible place it can be. Oh and BTW, Logohub, Cooley, thanks for backing me up. Good to see some people understand... |

Okay, I don't want to complain, but here I am ː/ This rule makes a lot of sense. This won't end up in logo mysteries that (as far as I'm aware of) go on for ages. It's also important that you put in detail because the page about whatever logo is absolutely nothing. But here's my complainː WHY DOES LOGOHUB BREAK THE RULE???????? I don't want to be too harsh here, but even when this rule has been brought up, Logohub still puts in "File Uploaded with MSUpload" instead of the title of the media or simply put in a video. This is why Metadata for the CLG Wiki exists. Because you made everyone think you captured stuff with Microsoft Upload in a clear way. This even goes for people following the rule by putting in videos or titles of media. Anyways, I know this because I've seen one of Logohub's Images very recently, & he broke the rule again. This is actually just stupid. How is the ways you capture media tell you where the Media came from? This literally makes no sense. Here's the Imageː _-_YouTube_-_0_05.jpeg) So, please follow the rule Logohub because this is one of the most difficult kinds of occupation imaginable. The fact that this Wiki has millions of Contributions (including WF) means it takes a lot of work to be successful. You're an Admin, I'm not, so why are you constantly breaking the rule? Just please understand this acceptional rule. Almost everyone else does. I could go on for ages, but I'm just going to end this not-so-long-essay. So Logohub, I've received a Feedback. |

@TVB: That's an automatic description which is used whenever you add an image via the upload box in the page editor, which I'm sure most of us do. MSUpload in this case is the extension that enables that box. it doesn't stand for Microsoft in this case. There's no option from that interface to change it before you upload. Logohub was not intentionally breaking the rule at all. |

@TVB MsUpload is a wiki extension, there's no actual way to edit the file description with MsUpload so I specified the sources on the logo description itself. But if you see my recent uploads I specified it on the filename. |
