Background

Flicks Films was a British animation studio owned by Terry Ward and Trevor Bond. Founded in 1973 as "Mr. Films", the studio was best known for the original Mr. Men and Little Miss TV series. Flicks Films shut down in 2007.

1st Logo (January 9-April 3, 1998)

Visuals: On a black background and inside a white box, there is a baby sleeping in his bed with a pacifier in his mouth, which is coloured in various shades of purple. The text "aflicksfilm" with "flicks", being larger and in a Broadway font, is seen below the box.

Variant: On episode 1 of Timbuctoo, "Neigh Finds a New Home", the logo is animated, showing the baby sucking his pacifier.

Technique: Traditional animation.

Audio: An 8-note music box tune.

Audio Variant: On "Neigh Finds a New Home", the music box tune is extended to 16 notes and is accompanied by the sounds of the pacifier being sucked.

Availability: Seen on the first series of Timbuctoo.

2nd Logo (December 7, 1998-April 16, 1999)


Visuals: Over a black background, the logo starts with inside a box a spa with the pool water animated. The word "flicks" from before with animated water inside, and "FILMS LTD" below is seen above the pool, while "A FLICKS FILMS PRODUCTION" is seen on the bottom of the box.

Variant: On series 2 of Timbuctoo, the logo is still.

Technique: Traditional animation.

Audio: A playful 9-note tune with the last note held out.

Audio Variant: On episodes 7-13 of series 2 of Timbuctoo, a melancholic guitar tune with crickets is heard.

Availability: Seen on the 1998 Mr. Men and Little Miss special "The Christmas Letter" and the second series of Timbuctoo.
