Background

ORT Video was founded in 1996 by ORT Channel to maintain the production and distribution of own VHS (later also DVDs). In 2002 ORT was rebranded into First Channel, and therefore the company gained new name. It went bankrupt in October 2011.

1st Logo (2002-2004)

Logo: On a blurry blue/purple sky background, two transparent rectangles appear, making the background clear. A transparent blue 1st Channel logo appears rotating, then settles and shakes with old filmstrip effects before turning white on a light blue rectangle against the black-blue gradient background. Then the words ПЕРВАЯ ВИДЕОКОМПАНИЯ (1st Videocompany), one below other, appear below by stretching.

Technique: CGI and 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Mainly hissing and humming sounds without much attraction to the sequence, ending with sounds of a movie projector and a windy swoosh sound when the company name appears.

Availability: Unknown.

2nd Logo (2004-2011)

Logo: On a blue surface with cloud reflections, we see many drops of a dark blue liquid. While the camera rotates, they merge with each other, forming the 1st Channel logo. The logo comes into a box with the following action copied from the last logo.

Technique: The liquid drops merging and the final animation from the previous logo.

Music/Sounds: Slightly rearranged soundtrack with minor liquid sounds.

Availability: Could be seen on later releases by (or with the participation of) the 1st Channel in Russia.
