Background

Eagle Pictures is an Italian film distributor founded in the 1980s.

1st Logo (1988?-1999)

Logo: On a grey radial gradient background, we see a dark blue triangular prism lying down and sliding up from the bottom. More shapes are seen coming towards the triangular prism to form an upside-down "V" shape. It flips and turns around and then shines, releasing the words "Eagle Pictures" as it zooms out.

FX/SFX: The shapes flying and shining and "Eagle Pictures" zooming.

Music/Sounds: A descending synthesizer morphing into a majestic held-out orchestral note.

Availability: Uncommon, can be seen in Italian prints of many movies from this period such as A Time for Dancing, Along Came a Spider, Sidewalks of New York, Rush Hour 2, among others.

2nd Logo (1998-2018)

Logo: On a blue gradient background with moving searchlights as well as a light reflection of the shape from before, a gray, metallic upside-down triangle is seen spinning and zooming out, settling in the center. One of the searchlights move over the shape, transitioning it into the same symbol from before with "EAGLE PICTURES" appearing letter by letter by zooming and fading out. Shortly after, the logo is split into multiple pieces, opening into a white screen.

Variants:

There is another version where the animation is different on a dark blue background with flashing lights and a 3D version of the metallic upside down triangle shape from before. Then it transforms into the same symbol and the words "EAGLE PICTURES" appears from a laser. Then it shines until the word disappears and the upside down triangle goes and the symbol turns into lines and flashes into a white screen.
A short version exists where it starts with the shape turning into a symbol.

FX/SFX: The background and searchlights moving, the wings flying, the letters of "Eagle Pictures" zooming out. This was designed by Frame by Frame.

Music/Sounds: Ambience noise with a loud bang when the triangle stops moving. Electric noises are heard when the letters appear, followed by a loud, descending bass drop and finally another sound resembling a rocket launching.

Availability: Common in Italy; could possibly be found in Italian prints of many movies of this period until 2017 such as Babysitter, Insurgent, Astro Boy, and The Fighter.

3rd Logo (2018-)

Logo: A light blade cuts a close up of a steel surface in half, briefly opening it before cutting to various shots of the company's name emerging and expanding in depth while light passes by over it. After a few shot changes, it shows the same V-shaped logo from before but with the text "EAGLE PICTURES" in a more futuristic font as it faces the screen and zooms out while a light reflection is on the letter "S".

Variants:

A short version of this logo exists on The Truth About The Harry Quebert affair where it starts with the V-shaped logo.
There is a longer version of this logo where it starts with the steel upside down triangle shape. Then lights blades appear cutting it in half and begins opening it, then we see the close up of the company's name emerging. Afterwards the same animation plays however at the end the light shines forming the same logo then the final shot plays as normal.

FX/SFX: Cool CGI animation!

Music/Sounds: A dramatic orchestral fanfare with an emphasis on percussions.

Availability: Current. It was seen on Italian prints of movies from 2018 onwards. One of these newer films that contain these logos is an Italian print of The Addams Family.
