Background

Duplass Brothers Productions is an independent film and television production company founded by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass in 1996, with Mel Eslyn as president since 2017. The company originally produced low-budget mumblecore films, but has since expanded to studio projects and television. In January 2015, the company closed a four-picture deal with Netflix (which was expanded in 2018), followed by a seven-picture distribution deal with The Orchard in June that same year.
