Background

Downtown Filmes is a film distributor dedicated exclusively to the release of Brazilian films. The company is led by Bruno Wainer, which was responsible, under both Downtown and Lumiere, for the distribution of some of the greatest hits of Brazilian cinema, among them Olga, Os Normais, Central do Brasil and Cidade de Deus (City of God), the latter being distributed overseas by Miramax Films.

1st Logo (March 17, 2006-December 30, 2021)

Visuals: On a black background, lights of cars move down from at a angle. The camera rotates as the car lights begin to multiply and reveal dots forming the street lights and window lights on the buildings. The camera continues to fly through the city until it reveals a group of dots forming an skyline shape. There is also "DOWNTOWN" underneath it with "FILMES" in a smaller, thinner font. The logo zooms in a bit.

Variants: In 2015, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, a variant was made in which, at the end the logo zooms back much farther than usual and a white circle rises from behind the buildings (in result, revealing the dots are part of black, rectangular buildings in the shape of the dot patterns), which causes the logo to descend to the bottom of the screen when "10 ANOS" (with "10" being much bigger than "ANOS" which is inside the 0) fades in inside the circle.

Technique: CGI animation produced by Visorama.

Audio: The sounds of cars and whooshing.

Availability: Seen on all films they distributed at the time like Olga. Despite the logo being changed in 2020, this logo still appeared on Turma da Mônica: Lições, which released in December 2021.

2nd Logo (January 23, 2020-)

Visuals: On a black background, lights of cars move down from at a angle. The camera rotates as the car lights begin to multiply and reveal dots forming the street lights and window lights on the buildings. The camera continues to fly through the city until it reveals a pattern of giant dots which fill the screen zooms out which then all fade out except for one in the middle. The letters "DT" then fade in inside the circle, and the company's name, now in a different font, fades in below. The logo zooms in a bit.

Technique: CGI animation, also produced by Visorama.

Audio: Same as before, but with low synth note at the end.

Availability: Seen on all films they distributed like The Division and Quem Vai Ficar com Mário?.
