Background

Dimension Films released its output on home video through Buena Vista Home Video, first through Miramax Home Entertainment. In 1996, Buena Vista created Dimension Home Entertainment for video releases of Dimension's output.

Logo (January 3, 1996-2017)

Visuals: On a black background, a set of blueish lines zoom out in the left side of the screen. As it zooms out, it gradually lights up to reveal that it is the word "DIMENSION" in a bold, italic Eurostile font. When the logo reaches a comfortable distance, it lights up completely as "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" wipes underneath it, in spaced-out letters.

Variants:

  • January 3, 1996-January 17, 2006: "HOME VIDEO", chyroned in and videotaped.
  • April 11, 2006-2017: "HOME ENTERTAINMENT", digitally added.

Variant: There are full-screen and "matted" widescreen variants of both versions.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be seen on home entertainment output from this company. The "HOME VIDEO" variation first appeared on Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back and was last seen on The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D, and the "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" variant first appeared on the American DVD of Wolf Creek.
