Background

Originally founded as Seoul CTS, then going by the name HIC Infocomm since 1994, the company began the interactive business by publishing CDs and then developing mostly licensed video game titles. In 1999 the company founded a CGI studio and was renamed to Digital Dream Studios. The company had worked with Idea Factory for the animation works of the Run=Dim series and the PC version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 along with Rainbow Studios. However the company had to cancel several projects in 2003 due to financial and legal troubles, including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3D-animated movie and several Xbox games. The company went inactive since.

HIC Infocomm

1st Logo (1996)

Visuals: Over a purple starfield we see the text "HIC" rotating with a white light passing through it. The logo moves into the center while the text "INFOCOMM" appears rotating from above and places below the logo. An orange burst then appears behind the elements, as the "INFOCOMM: text flips into the Korean name of the company and a red bar grows in-between the logo and text. The light briefly passes through the Korean text before disappearing, and the whole logo settles at the center. The starfield keeps moving for a while.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A spacy synthesizer with an orchestral hit when the logo settles.

Availability: Seen on Narara Hoking.

Digital Dream Studios

1st Logo (July 8, 2000)

Visuals: Over a black background white streaks draw in the words "Digital", "Dream" and "Studios" in order, as the text places itself. The screen then fades to a white background, with the logo of the company, being four paint streaks of gray, red, green and blue and the letters "DDS". Below is the name of the company, "Animation, Visual effect and Game" in gray, and the URL.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An atmospheric synth note.

Availability: The logo is only known to appear in Virtual Korea 2000.

2nd Logo (November 26, 2001-2004)

Visuals: There is a blue space background where the logo from before is drawn in by particles including two squiggles in the sides. A light appears from behind the shadow of a planet, and the camera moves back into place while the text "Digital Dream Studios" is revealed below the logo. The light rises up into the logo, turning it colored, while clouds are seen below. The space background and light then fade out, leaving out the logo for a few seconds.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A spacy synthesizer at first, following an atmospheric synth choir piece.

Availability: Seen on Mulk & Swank 2 and Kkoma Daejang Mangchi.
