Cyberstar Feature Presentation

Bumper (March 1989-January 1991)

Visuals: First, there is a black screen with the then-current ShowBiz wordmark in an orange-yellow gradient with a green glow. The "camera" flies into the "O", revealing a setting showing various clips from Pizza Time Players and Rock-afire Explosion showtapes (two each, with the right clip being mirrored), accompanied by stylized circuits being lit by a green trail. The trail disappears as an arrow in red is lit, and we fly into a tunnel of stars in different colors, before we see Chuck E. Cheese (in his then-current design) sitting on a director's chair in front of a purple star backdrop, waving to the viewer. One star above him zooms in and the word "CYBERSTAR" in a futuristic font zooms out into place, with Chuck E. zooming out to make room. Six red lines under the star, along with a trademark symbol, appear, and Chuck E. throws a glowing yellow orb from his hand, revealing the text "FEATURE PRESENTATION", before the ball comes back to his hand. Chuck E. throws the ball from his hand several times before the screen fades out.

Variant: In 2017, this intro was brought back by Chuck E. Cheese's for its 40 Years of Fun celebration. Due to the Rock-afire Explosion rights remaining with Creative Engineering, only the fourth live-action clip is shown, with a white flash transitioning from the "ShowBiz" logo to said clip; the footage is slowed down, before we get to the tunnel, after which the footage plays as normal.

Technique: CGI, live action footage (animatronic or costume), and 2D animation.

Audio: Several drumbeats, leading to a rock-based theme. A "woop!" sound is heard as Chuck E. waves, and six chimes are heard as the lines under the star fly in. It ends with several xylophone notes, followed by a brief sound of a child laughing.

Availability: First seen on "CEC Kiddie Songs" (the March 1989 showtape), and seen on most Pizza Time Players, Munch's Make-Believe Band, and Rock-afire Explosion showtapes at the time. Its last appearance was on "Friends" (the January 1991 showtape).
