Background

Concept Media Films is a horror film company that was started in 2011 by director Shawn Burkett.



1st Logo (June 30, 2011)

Visuals: On a black background, a red spotlight fades in with the horizontally distorted and stacked words "Concept Media" in the center. The light grows while the text zooms a little closer before the light dies down.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The opening of the trailer.

Availability: Only seen on the trailer to Midsummer Nightmares.

2nd Logo (December 7, 2011-2012)

Visuals: On a black screen, the same text in before in white zooms out rapidly and suddenly stops. Afterwards, the bottom text reading "©Concept Media LLC" fades in, followed by a blood overlay background.

Variants:

  • On a promo to The Sleeping Soul, the logo including the blood background is smaller and the copyright info is missing.
  • On the official trailer to A Shameless Revenge, the background consists of a gray cracked wall.
  • On A Shameless Revenge, the logo is still and against a different blood background.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A loud bang sound.

Audio Variants:

  • On the trailer to The Sleeping Soul, the opening theme plays throughout the logo.
  • The opening theme plays throughout a promo to The Sleeping Soul.
  • The trailer to A Shameless Revenge uses an alternate bang sound where it sounds more aggressive.

Availability: Seen on the teaser trailer as well as a promo to The Sleeping Soul, the official trailer to A Shameless Revenge and the film itself, among others.

3rd Logo (November 15, 2012-January 23, 2013)

Visuals: Fading in on a black background is the text cut-out "CONCEPT MEDIA FILMS" showing a gray pavement background with all of the letters' holes filled in.

Variant: On the second trailer to The Sleeping Soul, the text is in black against a broken pavement background.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The opening of the trailer.

Availability: Only seen on the official trailer of Bludgeon and the second trailer to The Sleeping Soul. It is unknown if this logo appeared on those films.

4th Logo (March 10, 2015-2017)

Visuals: A dark box is revealed in a black background very slightly zooming towards the camera. Suddenly, a gust of wind blows off the black liquid covering the box to reveal gray box consisting of the company's initials "CM" inside a rectangular box outline with blood inside and the words "CONCEPT MEDIA FILMS" underneath it. The background fades away and then the company's website link fades in.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An eerie ambience noise throughout. When the liquid gets blown off, a bass hit is heard.

Availability: Can be seen at the beginning of Don't F**k in the Woods.

5th Logo (2015-2021)

Visuals: Inside a white outline of a rectangular box are the horizontally distorted words "CM" with blood behind it. Underneath the box is the company's name in Times New Roman.

Variant: Sometimes, the blood behind "CM" is removed.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The opening of the trailer.

Availability: It was seen on the teaser trailer to The Lamb, the "Now Streaming" promo to Angel, the end of Betsy, among others.

6th Logo (October 25, 2016?-)

Visuals: A white outline of the state of Ohio fades in with the stacked words "MADE IN OHIO" fading in within the state. Not long after, the text fades out to allow the logo from before to fade in against an alternate version of the American flag alongside the text "EST. 2011" underneath it. Finally, the Ohio outline fades out.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen at the end of Don't F**k in the Woods and Betsy. This could appear on their other films from this period.

7th Logo (May 24, 2017-2019)

Visuals: The light briefly flickers, revealing a part of the 5th logo in a metal texture against a surface filled with red symbols. After the screen briefly turns black, the camera shows a different angle of the logo, scrolling to show several letters from the logo. Suddenly, the screen glitches where we cut and see a full shot of the logo.

Variants:

  • Later versions of this logo has it in a warm hue.
  • A short version exists, either rapidly cutting through the panning shots of the logo or simply starting with the already formed logo.
  • On the preview to Scream For Summer, the logo is in a purple hue.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: For the first half, there is light buzzing and liquid flowing. Then, there is glitching when we cut to a full shot of the logo.

Availability: It was seen on Betsy, She Burns in Hell, the YouTube preview for Scream For Summer, among others.

8th Logo (June 30, 2019)

Visuals: On a dark, dimly lit background, the 5th logo is seen constantly glitching before remaining still for a second before rapidly glitching again and quickly sliding away.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Multiple glitching sounds and then an electronic buzz.

Availability: So far, its only known appearance was on the trailer to What Happens In The Woods: The Story of Don't F**k in the Woods.

9th Logo (August 6, 2019-September 5, 2020)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white silhouette of the state of Ohio with the company's initials within it in a similar fashion to the 6th logo. The state, with five stars on top and underneath it, is inside a black circle and a white circular border with the arched words "CONCEPT MEDIA FILMS" duplicated on top and underneath with stars diving them and two circles outside and within the text. Blood can also be seen poking out of the cracked logo.

Variants:

  • On the trailer to Abstraction, the logo is seen zooming out.
  • On the teaser to Mr. Buzzkill, the blood is removed.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The opening of the trailer.

Availability: Seen on the trailers to Trespassing, Abstraction, and the teaser to Mr. Buzzkill.

10th Logo (2019-)

Visuals: On a dimly lit dark electric blue background, the logo from before zooms in and forms with a red light burst. As the logo is shown, red dust and blood are seen flying and floating out of it.

Technique: 2D animation and effects.

Audio: A bass hit.

Availability: Seen on trailers and other videos from this period such as the trailer to Season's Greetings 2.

11th Logo (Film Grind Custom Variant) (May 5, 2020-)

Visuals: On a footage of a damaged film filter, the logo from before appears and then disappears a few seconds later. This is before the screen cuts to a shot of a large light.

Technique: Live-action footage.

Audio: The opening theme of the series.

Availability: Seen on the Film Grind videos on YouTube.

12th Logo (2021-)

Visuals: The logo appears with the top and end vertical bars shrinking, showing the company initials changing positions, textures, sizes alongside the background switching to multiple patterns. After all of that, the logo in white, alongside the 3D bottom text "YouTube Exclusive", zooms in on a dark dimly lit background.

Technique: 2D animation that looks like it was done with Adobe After Effects.

Audio: A hip-hip jingle.

Availability: Was mainly used for YouTube series such as Squatch'd and Knock, Knock, Knock.
