Background

Cobra Media is a home video distributor who distributed films on VHS tapes in the 1980s.

1st (known) Logo (1980s)

Logo: We start out zooming out of a cobra in a red circle, which reveals a light blue background. On the left of the cobra we see, "Cobra" and "Media" beside the cobra, sitting on a red line. Above it is a long line with the corners on each end with a shadow effect. The logo fades out.

FX/SFX: Simple zooming effects.

Music/Sounds: "Moog Statement 14" by Andy Clarke, which is also used in other logos like Media West Home Video's, Crown Movie Classics', and, in the form of a slowed-down version, Worldvision Enterprises' and Worldvision Home Video's.

Availability: Rare. Seen on 1982 distributed prints of Watch Me When I Kill (also known as The Cats Victim or, in its home country of Italy, Il gatto dagli occhi di giada (The Cat with the Jade Eyes)), The Steel Fisted Dragon and Crocodile, all of which can be found on YouTube.
