Background

Check Six Studios was a company formed in 1997. It was named for the six co-founders of the company. The company formed an agreement with Universal Interactive to develop two games in the Spyro the Dragon series. The first game released in this deal, Enter the Dragonfly, was rushed in order to be released for the holiday season, leading to the final product getting poor reviews. As Check Six were no longer able to produce another Spyro title, they were forced to pay a fine for violating their contract. Check Six would go on to develop Drakan 3, but the project was scrapped and Check Six broke apart thereafter.
