Background

Canadian Television Fund was a non-profit organization that supports production and broadcast of Canadian television programs. Founded in 1998, their objectives are to support creation and broadcast by the Department of Canadian Heritage. Other objectives includes allocating one-third of its resources to French-programming and the other two-third to English-programming, providing development funds, and make it necessary for market to be progressed. However, in April 1 2010, it merged with Canada New Media Fund and creates Canada Media Fund.
