Broken Lizard

Background

Formed in 1996, Broken Lizard is a comedy troupe that consists of Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Although they mostly collaborate on productions of their films, Chandrasekhar is also known for directing episodes and films outside of the group. Despite the company not having an official logo until 2009, a print version was used until 2004 in promotional material which was never used on-screen.

1st Logo (December 11, 2009)

Visuals: On a black background, a green illustration of a lizard zooms and spins into frame, as the company name wipes in on its tail. After spinning around for a bit, it quickly shatters into pieces towards the screen.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Just a person laughing hysterically.

Availability: Only seen at the end of The Slammin' Salmon. Despite the print logo being featured in promotional material, this does not appear on Freeloaders, which uses an in-credit notice.

2nd Logo (April 20, 2018-)

Visuals: On a black background, the company name is seen in white, spaced out and set in Brandon Text Black. In the O's place is a green lizard, now redesigned. After a bit, the text shatters into pieces as the lizard forms into position like before.

Technique: 2D computer animation by Filmograph.

Audio: Same as before, albeit slightly different, with a glass breaking sound when the text shatters.

Availability: It debuted on Super Troopers 2. However, this does not appear on Quasi.
