Background

Following the demotion of the CLG Wiki's former management team due to an incident on September 9, 2022, and after overwhelming consensus, the wiki was renamed the Audiovisual Identity Database (AVID) on September 27, 2022.

In June 2023, AVID moved to WikiForge, following concerns about Miraheze's future.

Logo (October 1, 2022)

Visuals: On a black background, as the camera zooms out, the letters "AVID", in a futuristic striped font, draw themselves while changing colors as they do so and eventually settling on a red/yellow/green/blue gradient. The stacked words "Audiovisual Identity Database", in blue and in the custom AVID Sans typeface, flash word-by-word.

Trivia: Originally, the text in the logo was rendered to be gray. This was later changed to blue because Kris Valdespino (the then-designer of AVID's current logo) said to Plasticity (who was animating the logo) to switch to blue, since according to him, the blue text appeared to be fine on a black background.[1]

  • Prototypes of the AVID logo can be seen here

Variants: An updated version was made on December 31, 2022 by user Inaudible. This version started with a white AVID logo drawing itself in on a moving rainbow gradient background before the rainbow gradient settled into the AVID logo. This version changed a couple times, first having the rainbow gradient instead behind the logo (now in black) before flashing into the logo, making it rainbow. This version was updated yet again to include the 2023 AVID logo (a thinner version of the 2022 logo, now including purple to the rainbow gradient).

Technique: 2D computer animation from Plasticity.

Audio: Eight synth notes played along with the icon drawing, along with three synth notes when the text flashes. Composed by SoraThePanFloof, and arranged by Diberhaze, Compooper and Wolfworld Entertainment.

Audio Variants: An earlier version exist where the notes are more "mellow".

  • All of the variants use a shortened version of the jingle with different synth.

Availability: Seen on a promo for a rebrand for CLG Wiki (now known as Audiovisual Identity Database). All of the variants, originally intended for use on The AVID Channel, go unused and can be seen on the AVID Community Discord server. The third updated variant can also be seen during the Re-Construction Zone promo "Ace Stounding's Home Video".
