Ace Stounding

Ace Stounding is one of the Audiovisual Identity Database's mascots. He is created by Kris Valdespino.

Appearance

Ace has a red pyramid-shaped head with a yellow triangle-shaped sclera and a blue L-shaped pupil, making his head appear as the AVID favicon. He has an octahedron-shaped torso and he wears a blue jumpsuit with a black belt and two yellow shoulder pads. His shoes are yellow with blue velcro straps and red at the bottom.

History

Ace was introduced on September 27, 2022 on the AVID Discord server by Kris Valdespino. He sported a different look, with a lighter color palette and a different outfit consisting of a cloak, red belt, and blue shoes. Ace was soon updated on October 4, 2022 with his current look, albeit sporting different colors. Later on, his color palette changed on July 15, 2023 to match the official colors of the AVID branding, a decision Kris has spoken out against.

Ace's last name was originally Ramsey, as suggested by Vivi Celege's creator, Nancer, but this was dropped in November 2022 due to not fitting the character; after a period in which he had no last name, it was given as Stounding (as a pun on "astounding" when his full name is said), as suggested by Zach Jennings. Ace gained popularity on the AVID Discord server from October to December as AVID's unofficial mascot, and was officially adopted as a mascot along with Vivi and the now-retired Jeff on December 24, 2022.

Ace was the first AVID mascot to appear on the wiki itself. He was added to the now-deleted Adult Entertainment portal as part of an NSFW warning in early 2023. It was only after the June 2023 migration to WikiForge that both Ace and Vivi began appearing more widely across the wiki.
