Background

This is J.D. Roth (who previously formed Slam Dunk Productions) and Todd Nelson's production company, founded in 2001. It was acquired by Eyeworks in 2006, and the company was renamed Eyeworks USA in 2010. The company name later reverted to "3 Ball Entertainment" after Warner Bros. bought Eyeworks in 2014.

1st Logo (October 5, 2002-September 8, 2003)

Logo: On a blue background with stars, we turn left to find a basketball hoop with a sign that has the 3 Ball Productions logo (a basketball with the number "3" on the right side, the word "BALL" next to it, and the word "PRODUCTIONS" below it). 3 basketballs come in from the right, bottom, and left, and go through the hoop. The last ball hits the logo, making it flash briefly.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show. NBC airings use music from whichever promo is running.

Availability: Seen on the first season of Endurance and the first two seasons of For Love or Money.

2nd Logo (September 13, 2003-)

Logo: On a black background, we see the exact same 3 Ball logo as before, but it's in black and white and has a spotlight gradient on it. The logo zooms in slowly.

Variants:

  • A still version exists.
  • In 2006, an Eyeworks byline was added.
  • From 2015-2019, the logo is wholly different where the basketball is now a circle with an circle arc and was changed to "3 Ball Entertainment" and it swipes out in CGI and it shines.
  • Starting in 2020, the logo is now blue and the animation is different and the name was reverted back to "3 Ball Productions".

Technique: Digital 2D animation. CGI for the later years.

Music/Sounds: Either the end theme of the show, none, or a basketball bounce followed by 4 high synth notes all over a sustained synth note. Composed by John F. Foy.

Music/Sounds Variant: Starting in 2015, only three notes with a synth drone are heard, as well as a whoosh at the beginning. Composed by Jacob Matthew Allyn.

Availability: Seen on their that they produced such as Bar Rescue, Come Dance with Me and Marriage Rescue.
