Background

Zima Entertainment is a Mexican home entertainment company that distributes documentaries, public domain cartoons, and classic Mexican films. They are known for creating the Latin American Spanish dubs of many Studio Ghibli films.

1st Logo (2000s-)

Visuals: On a black background, a countdown that starts at 5 seconds appears. It stops counting when it reaches to 1 and it cuts to black. Then, it fades into a teal background with a film reel in the center. After some seconds, the reel suddenly zooms in and disappears, with many film strips appearing from all directions and rapidly heading to the center of the screen. Then the screen fades to white with the same filmstrips, this time appearing from the bottom and more zoomed in, going upwards. It zooms into one of them and the Zima Entertainment logo, which consists of a Z made by a colorful filmstrip, is being formed by a laser inside the reel. When it finally forms, it starts to shine from behind. After some seconds, the same laser makes the logo disappear and forms the word "Presenta" written in white. Finally, it also disappears and the background slowly fades out.

Technique: 2D and 3D CGI.

Audio: A majestic fanfare, with the sound of a film projector running in the background.

Availability: Found on a 2005 Mexican DVD of El increíble castillo vagabundo ( The Latin American Spanish dub of Howl's Moving Castle) and on a 2001 VHS release of Mi Vecino Totoro.
