Background

Word Entertainment is a Christian music and media distribution company, which is currently owned by Curb Records. They are known for releasing the Psalty Kid's Praise videos, as well as VeggieTales episodes with Big Idea Productions from 1993 to 2009 in the Christian market.

1st Logo (Early 1990s)

Nicknames: "The Falling Paper"

Logo: On a blue/black gradient background, a white square with a red border on it "floats in" from the right and moves to the center like a piece of paper falling to the floor (hence the nickname). The logo (a stencil-styled big "W.", with a red line below the W, and below the line a stencil-styled "WORD". Both the W & "Word" are in a cowboy-western font like Courier, Rockwell, or Playbill, hence nickname #3) zooms out and places itself on top of the square inside the border.

FX/SFX: Simple but effective CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A synth fanfare or silence.

Availability: Rare. It was seen on VHS prints of the first few (mid-90s) VeggieTales episodes, which are very hard to find as they were more commonly distributed by Lyrick Studios. The silent version was seen on Psalty's Salvation Celebration: The Movie and Psalty's Funtastic Praise Party. It might've been seen on other home videos released from the company in that period. One confirmed source was some prints of the original 1995 VHS of VeggieTales: Are You My Neighbor?, but the most common prints of that--and most of the early Everland Entertainment releases of VeggieTales--have literally nothing but the program and the Big Idea Logo.

Editor's Note: None.
