Background

Woolner Brothers was an American production and distribution company in the 1960s. The company mostly made B-movies.

(1961-1967)

Logo: On a black background we see a flame. "WOOLNER BROTHERS PRESENT" fades in on the right side and a pink Greek column fades in on the left. The flame remains on the top of the W in Woolner.

Variant:

  • On Hercules and the Captive Women the logo is part of the opening credits. The camera zooms in on the top of the column, and the titles appear above it.
  • There is a widescreen version on Lightning Bolt (1966) where the logo is stretched to fill the screen.

FX/SFX: The flame and the fading.

Music/Sounds: Either the opening theme of Hercules and the Captive Women (often very crudely edited) or a different fanfare.

Availability: Very rare. First appeared on American releases of the Italian Hercules and the Captive Women, and is still seen on public domain prints. Also appears on The Human Duplicators and Lightning Bolt. On the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of Hercules and the Captive Women and The Human Duplicators, as well as the Rifftrax version of Hillbillys in a Haunted House, this logo is retained.
