Background

Winchester Films was a British film production and distribution company established in 1993. It merged with Cobalt Media Group in 2003 and was acquired by ContentFilm in 2004.

1st Logo (February 4, 1995-1999)

Logo: On a blue background, we see a hand-scripted "W" zooming back. The text "INCHESTER" is wiped in, followed by "entertainment". This is set to the right of the logo for Prisma Productions, all of which takes place on a rainbow-gradient background with copyright info below.

Variant: On Jellikins, the logo is encased in a white box. The "W" and "WINCHESTER" are in white and highlighted in blue, and "productions is below the latter. Framed in a traditional British end-card, "An" and "Co-production for" sandwich this and the logo for Optical Image Broadcast, with the logo for GM TV below and copyright info. This takes place on a cartoonish cloudy background.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on The Big Garage and Jellikins.

2nd Logo (October 2, 1998-2001?)

Logo: On a black background, an orange glow gives way to the "W" from before, which gets drawn in. It zooms toward the top left corner as a bar of light forms the text "INCHESTER", while "FILMS" flies in and tilts upright, settling below the former text.

Variant: A version exists, featuring the logo in white on a black background.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A warbling spacey synth theme, followed by two shrill hums, ending with a sharp synth reverb.

Availability: The variant appeared on Divorcing Jack. Can probably be seen on any films from the period like Lighthouse and Wild About Harry.

3rd Logo (December 7, 2001-2003)

Logo: We see the tilted blue line coming up and down the black background, revealing part of the silver hand-script "W" on the left side. Then the line repeats its movement, but in horizontal position, while the letter shines and crystal the text "winchester films" appear below.

Variant: On Bounty Hamster, the logo is in the white and blue box, but the "W" shines and it is brighter.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on Christmas Carol: The Movie, Scorched, Heartbreakers and Bounty Hamster.
