Logo descriptions and captures by EnormousRat

Background: Wanadoo Edition was formed in 2000 by the merger of France Telecom Multimedia (Wanadoo) and index+. The new company developed and published games until 2003, when Microids, suffering from financial troubles, purchased Wanadoo Edition, so Wanadoo became a 12% shareholder of Microids.

1st Logo (2000-2002)

Wanadoo Edition (2000)Wanadoo (2000)Wanadoo (2000)Wanadoo (2001)Wanadoo (2002)

Nickname: "France Telecom"

Logo: The logo is a common France Telecom sign, a red and orange ampersand. Right to the symbol, there's wanadoo, which can be white or blue. Sometimes the background is white, and the letters are blue.

FX/SFX: The logo zooms in with blur effect. The static version is much more common.

Variants: The logo comes with several bylines, the earliest one says France Telecom Group or Groupe France Telecom. Other version says edition. Later, there was no byline. Some games for GBA had the red background.

Music/Sounds: Some whooshes and mechanical whirs followed by a distorted female voice saying "wanadoo" with the techno music in the background. None for the still version.

Availability: Seen in a variety of games like The Messenger, Necronomicon, Aztec for PSX and other titles.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (2002-2003)

Wanadoo (2002)

Nickname: "Computer Synthesis"

Logo: A rounded black rectangle (with one corner untamed) zooms to the screen with purple w inside. The letter begins to change, then the rectangle moves left, and wanadoo is created with some effects. The w letter moves right, making w and n, then a falls down, creating another a, and last three letters appear. Then the w flashes back to the rectangle.

FX/SFX: The letters creating effects. Sometimes no animation and the background is black.

Music/Sounds: 2 notes sounding similar to music found on Wii Sports, and a series of computerized sounds.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on Pink Panther and Hellboy: Asylum Seeker for PSX and also appeared on Iron Storm.

Editor's Note: None.
