Background

WWF Home Video was formed in 1997 by the World Wrestling Federation after its original home video distributor, Coliseum Video, folded; Coliseum had supported the WWF before its folding. The company was renamed to WWE Home Video in 2002 when the WWF was renamed World Wrestling Entertainment due to a lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund.

Logo (1998-1999)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a television "turn-on" effect, revealing the background was static. The static then zooms out to reveal it's in a TV-like square, and a purple version of the 1995-1998 WWF logo zooms out. Then the static fades to a audience, and the red words "HOME VIDEO" fades in below the logo. The text "WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION" zooms out below the logo.

Variant: In its later days, the WWF logo is updated to the "scratch" logo, and "HOME VIDEO" is in white and it slides in from the left and right sides. Plus, the static is in blue.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sound of TV static, followed by a whoosh and a held-out electric guitar note
