Background

WFLI-TV (channel 53) is a television station licensed to Cleveland, Tennessee, serving the Chattanooga area as a dual affiliate of The CW and MyNetworkTV. It is owned by MPS Media, which maintains a local marketing agreement with New Age Media, owner of True Crime Network/Comet affiliate WDSI-TV (channel 61), for the provision of certain services. Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of dual ABC/Fox affiliate WTVC (channel 9), provides some engineering functions for both stations under LMAs and also programs WFLI-TV.

1st ID (1990)

Visuals: On a black background, we see a yellow word "TV" above. A light ray then flies in and reveals itself to be a white grid. Pieces of a map then fly in, connect and flip, forming a globe afterwards. A yellow number "53" with a segmented trail fades in with a dissolving effect, and the grid shines. The yellow station name wipes in and white words "CLEVELAND CHATTANOOGA DALTON" in a stacked format appear one by one. Lavender and red lines then wipe in in the center. The aforementioned words dissapear, and slightly tilted yellow words "Watch Us!" appear.

Technique: Computer animation and CGI.

Audio: An ascending warbling synth note, followed by an upbeat synth tune. An announcer can be heard saying "Watch us!".

2nd ID (1997)

Visuals: On a black background, we see white words "YOU'RE WATCHING" in a hand-drawn font above. There is an UPN logo with a black paint scribble in the center, glowing white. Below it there is a blue line with the white words "CLEVELAND CHATTANOOGA" in a stacked format in the left and stacked text "WFLI UPN" in the right with a white number "53" next to them.

Technique: None.

Audio: An ascending and descending synth note accompained by an announcer saying "You're watching UPN 53, WFLI.". An orchestral hit is heard, followed by a descending warbling synth note.
