Background

Viacom New Media was a gaming development division of Viacom based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Its first game was Dracula Unleashed. It was shut down in 1997.

1st Logo (1993-1994)

Logo: We see the Viacom logo in the "Wigga-Wigga" font with "NEW MEDIA" under it on the right.

Variants:

On Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day, the logo slides in from the top and it's on a purple background with objects.
On Dracula Unleashed, the logo is tinted in red.
On the Sega Genesis version of Beavis and Butt-Head, the logo is on a blue background, plus the "NEW MEDIA" text is red.

Technique: None. On Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day, it's in 2D animation.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on Viacom games through the era such as Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day, Dracula Unleashed, and Beavis and Butt-Head for Sega Genesis.

2nd Logo (1994-1997)

Logo: On a black background, we see the Viacom "Wigga-Wigga" logo with "new media" under it with lines under each "e".

Variants:

On AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, we see a blue cat walking in from the right. Then Ickis comes in from the left and scares it. Then he walks away. On the Genesis version, Ickis doesn't walk away. Also, they both walk in the same time.
On Nickelodeon GUTS, the logo comes in from the bottom right causing the background to flash white.
On Zoop, the logo is on a white background. Plus, the "new media" text is green. On the Sega versions (Game Gear/Genesis), "Licensed by Sega Enterprises, Ltd.", is under the logo.
On Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity and Star Trek Deep Space 9 - Harbinger, the logo glows in blue.
On the PlayStation and Saturn versions of Zoop, the logo is completely white. Plus, the logo zooms in from the start.
On the Game Gear version of Beavis and Butt-Head, the "new media" text is red.
On Phantom 2040, the logo is purple. On the Game Gear version of said game, the logo is on a purple background. Like in the Sega versions of Zoop (Genesis/Game Gear), "Licensed by Sega Enterprises, Ltd.", is under the logo.

Technique: Depending on the game, but mainly, none.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game. On Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity, there is a guitar tune.

Availability: Seen on Viacom games through the era such as Nickelodeon GUTS, Phantom 2040 for the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and Game Gear, Beavis and Butt-Head for the Game Gear and Zoop.

3rd Logo (1997)

Logo: On a dark blue background, several electrified orbs float by. Then the Viacom logo in its usual font appears in a blue color. One of the orbs explode into particles, which form the word "newmedia".

Technique: Simple animation in the logo.

Audio: Mainly electronic noise.

Availability: Seen on the last games before the company's closure such as Death Drome and The Divide.
