Background

Viacom New Media was a gaming development division of Viacom based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Its first game was Dracula Unleashed. It was shut down in 1997.



1st Logo (1993-January 1995)

Visuals: There is the Viacom logo in the "Wigga-Wigga" font with "NEW MEDIA" under it on the right.

Variants:

  • On Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day, the logo slides in from the top and is on a purple background with objects.
  • On Dracula Unleashed, the logo is tinted in red.
  • On the Sega Genesis version of Beavis and Butt-Head, the logo is on a blue background, and the "NEW MEDIA" text is red.

Technique: A still 16-bit graphic. 2D animation for the Rocko's Modern Life variant.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on Viacom games through the era such as Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day, Dracula Unleashed, and Beavis and Butt-Head for Sega Genesis.

2nd Logo (November 1994-November 8, 1996)

  • On Nickelodeon GUTS, the logo comes in from the bottom right causing the background to flash white.
  • On Zoop, the logo is on a white background and the "new media" text is green. On the Sega versions (Game Gear/Genesis), "Licensed by Sega Enterprises, Ltd." is under the logo.
  • On Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity and Star Trek Deep Space 9 - Harbinger, the logo glows in blue.
