NBC Weather Plus

Background

NBC Weather Plus was a television network that was dedicated to weather and meteorology. After NBCUniversal announced its intention to phase the network out after NBC affiliates expressed their desire for the service to close, the national network would shut down on December 31, 2008, with local stations affiliated with the network being discontinued over the years, the final one to be discontinued being WVIR-TV when they switched to WeatherNation in 2015.

Centropy

Centropy was a warez group that specialized in pirated releases of films, many of which were still in or not even released to theatres at the time. Founded in January of 1999, the group was dismantled as a result of Operation Site Down, an FBI initiative conducted to disrupt and/or shut down the leading warez groups in the summer of 2005. Their releases boasted custom logos, apparently for bragging rights.

2nd logo (mid/late 2003?-200?)

Logo: Fading in from back, on a white-blue background, we see numerous white-to-cyan and red reflective blobs while the camera moves through them to reach futuristic-esque white reflective text reading "centropy". After reaching the text, the camera pans away to a shot of the background, and two pieces of stylized reflective text reading "FINEST VCD/DVD" and "RELEASE CREW" come from the top and bottom of the screens respectively and briefly spin around before moving off-screen. Immediately after, a Windows XP Internet Explorer window of a CNET article reporting on The Matrix: Reloaded having leaked online a day before official release stretches in, and after a few moments, another section of the article stretches in before we zoom in and out to see an excerpt of the article specifically naming Centropy and another warez group, Esoteric. The excerpt fades to black, and 3D orange text reading "CENTROPY" zooms out from the bottom-left corner of the screen while a square containing twelve screens showing various movies pirated by the group comes down from the top of the screen and and a futuristic container holding what appears to be some kind of plant floats to the center of the screen. All of these elements then move off the screen before we fade to black.

FX/SFX: CG animation, footage from the movies and simple transition effects.

Music/Sounds: A sample of around the last minute of "The Best" by Tina Turner. A male voice can be heard saying something unintelligible at the end following a brief period of silence.

Availability: Extinct. Even if defunct, seeking out the extent of the availability of this and Centropy's other logos is not recommended due to the group's legally dubious nature.

4th logo (2000s)

Logo: While under the sea, we see a clownfish swim from the right side of the screen to the left as bubbles containing gold letters making up the group's name float up from the bottom of the screen along with three squares containing footage from three movies pirated by the group. A battleship then cruises from the left side of the screen to the right in-between the bubbles and the squares before the squares and the camera start rising to the surface. Once both reach the surface of the ocean and the camera flies up a bit more while panning down, we see, in white, cartoonish 3D text, a message from the group reading "Hello folks! Well you would expect the greeting here right? Not this time!", which remains on the screen for some time before sliding down off-screen. Another set of text slides up from the bottom of the screen reading "Seeing as how dangerous the scene has become, it's kinda hard to greet anyone anymore!" before exiting in the same fashion. This repeats for the other sets of texts, which are, in order, "Hell, no one wants to be greeted anymore! Fame is a dangerous thing these times.", "So we will send out some anti-greetings instead to the following evil empires" and "-> BSA, MPAA, FAST, M$, RIAA Until next time!".

FX/SFX: CG animation and footage from the movies.

Music/Sounds: A calm, dreamy piece featuring female vocals and synth instruments. This is apparently a music piece composed by Kenji Kawai.

Cocomelon

Background

Cocomelon, previously known as checkgate and ABC Kid TV, is an educational American YouTube channel owned by Moonbug Entertainment and maintained by Treasure Studio. They are most known for their animated educational videos featuring nursery rhymes and original songs, and, as of July 2021, they are both the second-most viewed and second-most subscribed YouTube channel in the world.

Cocomelon

(2017- )

Logo: We open to see a a watermelon with a pink, stylized baby-like face with black eyes, red cheek blushes and purple, TV-like antennae on top of of its head sleeping until a ladybug quickly flies from the left side of the screen to the right, causing the watermelon to wake up in surprise and look at the ladybug as it flies in the opposite direction. The watermelon then happily turns around to face the ladybug until it turns to face the camera, this while colorful, stylized letters that spell out "COCOMELON" roll in from the right side of the screen to the center. The letters then quickly spin one one-by-one with the watermelon watching the movement until the same ladybug from before flies in and lands on the watermelon while the letters bounce around, and the watermelon smiles in response.

Variants:

• On new uploads made after Moonbug Entertainment bought the channel in 2021, the camera zooms out a bit at the end and, under Cocomelon's logo, a byline showing a white stylized "M" in a navy circle appears, and navy letters forming the name "moonbug" slide out of the circle. This variant was first used on "Beach Day Song | CoComelon Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs".
• On Christmas-themed uploads, the watermelon is on some snow and the background is blue with active snowfall. Green strands of red and green holiday lights are also hung in the top corners of the screen.

FX/SFX: All 3D CG animation.

Music/Sounds: A fly buzzing sound, a light-hearted kiddy theme, a young child shouting "Cocomelon!" as the letters spin and a squeaky toy sound at the end.

Music/Sounds Variants: The holiday variant's music is given a Christmas-styled rendition.

Availability: Common. Used at the beginning of every one of their new uploads starting with "Down by the Bay | CoComelon Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs".
