Background

Twic Lyrec was a company that distributes music, video and more. It was founded in 1995.

(1996-2000s)

Logo: On a black background, a fire-textured object resembling the front view of a steam locomotive appears far in the background and streaks it's outline into the screen. It quickly retracts to reveal itself as the Twic-Lyrec logo, which has a telephone dial-like object with a rotating triangle with its sides bent inwards in the center, surrounded by 3 concentric rings. Above it is the tall text "TWIC" acting as the "funnel" with a dot above it, and below it is the angled text "Lyrec", acting as the "cowcatcher". As it starts moving towards the screen, it shines constantly and a dimly-lit railroad track starts scrolling into view. When it gets close enough to the screen, the track ends and we zoom into the triangle, revealing the text "ПРЕДСТАВЛЯЕТ" in white.

FX/SFX: The logo coming towards the screen.

Music/Sounds: A rather dramatic "adventure" MIDI tune that has a droning "laser" sound at the beginning and goes in a triumphant finisher at the end. There's also the sounds of a train whistle going off (one at the start, and another at the end) and the "chuffing" it does when it goes towards the screen.

Availability: Rare. Was shown on some film and cartoon DVDs. This was currently seen on the lot of DVDs from Russia, including imported and exported DVDs with that company label on it.

Legacy: The logo coming towards the screen, as well as the music, may not sit well with some children.
