Background

The Steve Tisch Company was founded in 1986 by Steve Tisch. This would be his second production company (the first being Tisch/Avnet Productions with Jon Avnet). The company produced films on the big and small screens. In 2001, The Steve Tisch Company would merge with Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal's production company, Black & Blu, to form Escape Artists.

1st Logo (October 24, 1986-June 9, 1992)

Visuals: On a black background, eight blue lines shoot up from the left corner of the screen in a diagonal fashion. The first three lines are longer than the others in order to represent a "T" shape. The text "The Steve Tisch Company" fade in below in a diagonal fashion.

Variants:

  • A still version also exists where the "T" along with the text is much larger here. An animated version of this also exists.
  • An early version has the logo in green with purple streaks.

Technique: The bars shooting up.

Audio: A three-note high pitched synth theme with a quiet whoosh at the end. It also used the closing theme of the movie (or show) or non music. On Whisper Kills, the Phoenix Entertainment Group music is used, possibly due to an editing error. It fits very well with the logo though!

Availability: Was seen on Soul Man, Whisper Kills and Victim of Love. The large text version was seen on the TV adaptation of Dirty Dancing.

2nd Logo (October 1, 1996)

Visuals: On a purple wall-like background is a spotlight in the middle of the screen. "STEVE TISCH" flips in one letter at a time. As this happens, "THE" and "COMPANY" fades in above and below "STEVE TISCH". A line would then draw itself under "COMPANY".

Technique: The flipping in of the letters, the rest of the company name fading in, the line.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be seen on the TV movie The People Next Door.
