Background

This is the production company of television producers Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin. The company became regulated to spin-offs of its existing shows after Robin co-founded Ostar Productions with Bill Haber. As of 2018, the company has been dormant.

(September 29, 1999-January 9, 2018)

Logo: On a blue background that looks like it's being viewed on a CRT television, static is seen throughout. Then the words "THE SHEPHARD / ROBIN COMPANY" zoom out and the TV screen flickers until the words flash.

Variants:

  • On shows broadcast in 16:9 widescreen (including Major Crimes), the logo is stretched.
  • A short version exists that starts at the point where the text flashes.

Technique: Appears to be CGI.

Music/Sounds: Static sounds are heard, followed by an orchestra hit. A synth note is heard throughout.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • The logo's audio may trail off into other logos (for example, on The Closer and Major Crimes, it trails off into the Walking Entropy logo).
  • Sometimes, the logo may be silent or the closing theme of the show may play over.
  • ABC airings of The D.A. used a generic theme.

Availability: Seen on shows from the company, like Popular, Brutally Normal, Nip/Tuck, The D.A., The Closer, Major Crimes, and Longmire.
