Background

Telescene was a Canadian television production company based in Montreal, which closed down in 2001. Founded in 1977 by Robin Spry, Telescene produced commercials, documentaries, feature films and TV shows, such as Big Wolf on Campus. Robin Spry died in a car accident in 2005.

1st Logo (October 29, 1991-1993)


Visuals: On a black background, there is a white flash that covers the entire screen. Then is the text "TELESCENE" in gold. Then, there is a blue line that underlines the text.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The closing theme.

Availability: Seen on Urban Angel and probably, the first season of Sirens.

Legacy: The logo itself is too simple and it may be a prototype of the next logo.

2nd Logo (September 1, 1993-May 26, 2001)

Videos

Visuals: On a black background, there is a red flashlight turn on and move around. Shortly, a green one appears and does the same thing, as well as a blue one. As they move around the area, we can see the word "TELESCENE" over the flashlights. They then all face one direction as a little flash occurs, and "TELESCENE" turns white. The flashlights become still and are all facing one direction.

Variant: A shorter version exists.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A horn tune with a two-note flute at first, but the strings rise in tune and it stops at a high note at the end, along with a one-note piano. The sounds of the flashlights are heard too.
