Background

The Video Information System (VIS) was a console sold only at Radio Shack. The VIS sold only 11,000 units and only about 25 games were released for it (Radio Shack employees even joked that the VIS was "Virtually Impossible to Sell"), so it was discontinued rather quickly.

(1992-1994)

Logo: On a black background, we see the pink-purple gradient letters "VIS" surrounded by a white box, wiping upwards. Black lines then "etch" into the letters. You can see "VIDEO INFORMATION SYSTEM" below, colored pink. The green text "Authorized Video Information System Title" appears below.

Variant: If you don't have a CD in the machine, the yellow text "Insert a disc or cartridge" is below, and it stays on screen throughout the animation.

Technique: Simple real-time animation.

Music/Sounds: A "whoosh", then a synth drone.

Availability: Seen when a VIS CD system is turned on. This system is pretty hard to find (see the background for more).
