Background

Studio TriTe (Студия ТриТэ; i.e. Three T) was founded by the famous Russian film director Nikita Mikhalkov in 1987. The name of the studio means the composition of three T's (Товарищество, Творчество, Труд - Companionship, Creation, Labour). The studio began using an animated logo in 2004, though a pair of print versions were seen before.

1st Logo (1994)

Logo: In a white rhombus, we see a black bear holding three T letters folded into each other. Below is the text "STUDIO TRITE (RUSSIE)". The left half is occupied by the French studio Camera One logo.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on the international print of Burnt by the Sun. The Russian version usually removes the logos.

2nd Logo (2002)

Logo: It's the print version of the logo on a blue rhombus. The name is written in Russian.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Azazel.

3rd Logo (2004-2007)

Logo: With a blue light beaming from the left corner, we see three giant yellow letters T passing by, each accompanied by the Russian word starting with T (see background). The screen moves after the letters, which are folded into the hands of a stylized brown bear standing in front. There are background lights coming from the pictures of Christ the Saviour Cathedral and the Kremlin. Below this picture, taken into frame, we see again these three words, then "СТУДИЯ ТРИТ" under in bigger font and "НИКИТЫ МИХАЛКОВА" (Nikita Michalkov's) even below.

Technique: Letters and words moving.

Music/Sounds: Majestic fanfares with two premises.

Availability: Was used on 72 Meters, Turkish Gambit and the original release of The State Counsellor (newer releases have the next logo).

4th Logo (2007-)

Logo: We see blue stars glowing and spreading light beams to each other, creating the net. We move down as they do so, and see three glowing T's around, until we zoom out and see a constellation of a bear holding three T's. The bear is full of stars and just marked with borders, while the letters are more solid. Then below there are words "СТУДИЯ ТРИТЭ НИКИТЫ МИХАЛКОВА" and under it, three words again, separated with dots. The logo glows.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: Long, slow, and rearranged version of the fanfares from the previous logo. The State Counsellor have the same music as the previous though.

Availability: Current. First used on 12 and 1612 movies, also seen on Burnt by the Sun 2 and its sequel Citadel, Legend №17, Spy (Shpion), Flight Crew (Ekipazh) and other films. It also plasters the previous logo on newer releases and airings of The State Counsellor.
