Background

Sterling Home Entertainment was a joint venture between Lions Gate and Scanbox International, a Danish film company. It was founded in 1998 to release low-budget American B-movies on VHS/DVD. It was folded into Lions Gate in 2000. Sterling Home Entertainment was also renamed as "Studio Home Entertainment" said year, until 2001 when it was folded into Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Sterling Home Entertainment

(1998-2000)

Nicknames: "Sterling Swan", "Silver Swan", "Silver Sterling Swan"

Logo: Same as the 4th Scanbox logo, but the when the swan transforms, the logo is now entirely silver and also a bit thicker, and the light effect around it is also different. When the pieces unfold, "STERLING" appears in a similar fashion to the lines in the Scanbox logo, and "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" then fades in below it. The logo then shines. Unlike the original logo, this is videotaped and presented in a widescreen format.

FX/SFX: Same as the Scanbox logo.

Music/Sounds: The sounds of water and the swan's wings flapping, but a dark sounder plays throughout. When the swan transforms, a shining sound plays, and then a dark sounder plays when the "STERLING" logo wipes in.

Availability: Seen on Prisoner of Love, Free Money, Southie, and Black Eagle, among others.
