Background: TV 2 changed their name to South Pacific Television in 1976, just to change it back again on February 15, 1980 when it and TV One merged under [[Television New Zealand]].

Background

South Pacific Television was a brief rename of TV 2 in 1976. On February 15, 1980, South Pacific Television was renamed TV 2 again when it merged with TV One under Television New Zealand.
