Background

Sierra Leone Television is a television broadcaster from Sierra Leone. Established in 1963, It was the first television station in Sierra Leone, marking a crucial milestone in the nation's media landscape. Originally launched under the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service (SLBS), it has since evolved into the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), reflecting its status as a public broadcaster.

It operates under the mandate of providing comprehensive coverage of news, current affairs, cultural events, and educational content tailored to meet the needs and interests of the Sierra Leonean audience. Its programming spans a wide spectrum, encompassing national news updates, documentaries exploring local issues and history, entertainment shows featuring music and drama, educational programs aimed at enhancing public awareness and knowledge, as well as sports coverage showcasing local and international events.
