Background

Scholastic-Lorimar Home Video was formed as a joint venture between Scholastic Corporation and Karl-Lorimar Home Video to distribute videos based on the former's products. The joint venture ceased to exist in 1987 when Scholastic joined Family Home Entertainment, and a new label Jim Henson Play-Along Video served as a replacement label.

(1985-1986)

Logo: On a black background, we see an octagon reading "SCHOLASTIC-LORIMAR". On top of it, a marquee with "HOME VIDEO" is seen, with a book in the middle.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. It can be seen on the original VHS release of Clifford's Sing Along Adventure, as well as Aesop's Fables and The Baseball Bunch. It was also seen at the end of ABC's Fun Fit with Mary Lou Retten. Later videos from the Scholastic-Lorimar label skips the logo, going straight to the program.
