Background

Samsung Entertainment is the home video division of Samsung Corporation, founded in 1999.

(1998-2000)

Logo: On the black BG, we see the blue outlined oval slowly spinning, shining and zooming in. Then, we see dark-blue spiral. Spark appears, and spiral turns out to be silver outlined ovals. Spiral disappears as it make "S/\MSUNG" letters (in corporate font) appear one-by-one with "PRESENTS" below. Then, whole thing flashes, BG turns white, as it turns into real Samsung oval logo.

Variant: During the logo's early days, the animation had a different rendition. The logo had a different font and doesn't turn into the oval.

FX/SFX: CGI effects, much better than other logos.

Music/Sounds: A fantasy-oriented synth fanfare with a couple drones added in the mix.

Availability: Common at this time, as it can be seen on Samsung DVD releases like Shiri (1999). It first appeared on a Samsung Demo Laserdisc dated back in 1998.
