Background

Robomodo was a Chicago-based development studio founded in 2008. They are infamous for developing all of the universally-panned later titles in the Tony Hawk video game series. The studio either shut down or went dormant in August 2016.

(2009-2016)

Logo: We see an anthropomorphic giant robot, rising and standing hands-up in front of several buildings and sunlight. The background is covered by orange and white beams and helicopters. There is an orange banner "ROBOMODO", a bit folded, standing before the robot. Then it falls, leaving the robot in confusion. We zoom out of the screen to reveal a studio where the logo is being shot, and a panda-headed man rushes to lift the banner on the stage. As he does, we see the robot raising its hands again, while we turn to the computer screen and zoom to our finished product. The logo shuts down via TV powering off.

Technique: CGI for the logo, and live action at the studio.

Music/Sounds: Slightly ominous music with laser sounds, followed by some cardboard sounds. Then we hear muffled conversations and the struggle at the studio. Once the logo is restored, a robotic voice says "Robomodo", and then we hear a TV powering off.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, the logo is sped-up, but the audio is at normal speed, making the audio cut off halfway through the robotic voice saying "Robomodo".

Availability: Seen on Tony Hawk: Ride, Tony Hawk: Shred and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5.
