(1990s- )

Logo: On a sky background, four 3D silver squares inside of each other zoom out and flip to the left and merge into one square. Then a red "Q" fades inside the square, the letters "uality" in cursive writes in next to the square. Then the words "VIDEO, INC", fade in below the cursive and to the right of the square.

Variants:

  • A long version of this exists. For the first ten seconds, nothing happens. After the animation completes, the logo doesn't disappear until after 15 seconds.
  • A medium version exists where the logo fades in 3 seconds before the animations starts.
  • A short version exists that fades in a second before the animation starts and fades out shortly after the animation is complete.
  • On later releases, the words "VIDEO, INC" are absent.
  • The end variant has a copyright date at the bottom of the screen.

FX/SFX: Flipping of the squares, writing of the letters, fading of the words.

Music/Sounds: A dreamy xylophone synth theme, two whooshes when the squares are flipping, eight (ten if you listen closely) synth pounds, and a small whoosh at the end. The sound of wind blowing is heard throughout.

Music/Sounds Variant: A variant of the short version of this logo exists where the logo is silent.

Availability: Rare. Seen on several special-interest and public domain VHS/DVD releases such as Lions: Kings of the Serengeti. The silent, short variant was spotted on a 1992 VHS release of Diane Horner's Country Line Dancing.
