Background

Pilot is a legendary Moscow-based animation studio founded in 1988. It was the first private studio in the former USSR and became widely known for its series (especially famous Pilot Brothers - Братья Пилоты) even in foreign countries. In 2010 the studio was forced to reduce its work because of the lack of money.

(1988-)

Logo: The script "PiLOT" is drawn with the top-right stem of the T extended. The full name flips in one-by-one below, saying "MOSCOW ANIMATION STUDIO" (in Russian). On earlier production, the line would appear below and the name was written in English and in the serif font.

Variants:

  • On Pilot Brothers and Pilot Brothers 2 for PC, the English version of the logo, made out of gold, appears in the "turning/refracting prism"/"shadow wipe" style, a la Amblin Entertainment. It can be seen here.
  • In late years, the logo is still and has a different byline in the memory of Aleksandr Tatarsky, the founder and leader of the studio.

FX/SFX: The drawing.

Music/Sounds: Sometimes it had a drum roll, but many works have no sound.

Availability: Current. Appeared on numerous animations produced by the company. English version survives on early games made after Pilot Brothers series. Seen on "Поросёнок" (Piglet) series, as still used, because it was the legendary exit from lack of money.

Editor's Note: None.
