The second incarnation of '''Viacom''' was established on December 31, 2005, after the original reincarnation was split into two companies: one which retained the original [[Viacom (1971-2006)|Viacom]] name, and another one which was the original Viacom and was reincorporated into CBS Corporation, officially ceasing to exist. On December 4, 2019, Viacom and CBS remerged into '''ViacomCBS'''. Background

On December 4, 2019, Viacom and CBS Corporation remerged into ViacomCBS. On February 16, 2022, ViacomCBS was officially renamed to Paramount Global (more commonly known simply as Paramount, after the Paramount trademark introduced in 1912), Despite the name change, The company can be still known as "Viacom".

Logo (February 15, 2022-)

Visuals: The logo uses the 2011 Paramount Pictures logo starting at the point where the stars skim the lake, making ripples in the process. As stars fly nearer to the mountain, the stars, both incoming and encircling the mountain, become two-dimensional and white in color whilst the background fades into dark blue. The mountain then transitions into a two-dimensional form with a cut circle wiping behind it, turning the stars into dark blue; as this is happening, the glossy text "Paramount" zooms out and fades into white to take place beneath the mountain. A reflection of the "Paramount" text fades in below.

Trivia: Like the Paramount Players and Paramount+ logos, this logo may remind some logo fans of the 1975-1986 Paramount Pictures logo, where the background fades to blue after a few seconds and the realistic mountain turns into a stylized version.

Variants:

  • Still and short versions exist.
  • The trailer for Knuckles (2024) has the logo in red, Knuckles' color.

Technique: CGI, based on the theatrical logo by Devastudios and animated using Terragen by Planetside Studios and Autodesk Maya, made by Loyalkaspar.

Audio: A shimmering theme reminiscent to an orchestra warmup with three initial piano notes, followed by a seven-note string/piano melody (the last seven notes of the 2011 Paramount Pictures logo theme by Michael Giacchino), finished with a stinger once "Paramount" flies in. Composed by YouTooCanWoo.

Audio Variant: Sometimes, the logo is silent or the closing theme plays over it.

Availability:

  • So far, this logo is seen on the Paramount social media accounts and on the Paramount website.
  • The short version was first seen in a post on Paramount Global's X account on February 18, 2022, which can be viewed here, and subsequently also appears on a number of other videos on the page.
  • This logo is also seen on Anderson Silva and Los Enviados.
