Background

Following the closure of Rogue Entertainment, ex-id staff member Brandon James formed Nerve Software in 2001, where members of Rogue would join the company. They primarily acted as a support studio for different developers, id Software being the most prevalent. The company would close in 2021.

1st Logo (2003-????)

Visuals: On a scratchy red background a close-up of a microorganism is seen. The camera zooms into one of the organism's nuclei which contains the word "nerve" in a Typewriter font, the "e" is encased in a hexagon. A drop-shadow effect occurs on the word.

Variant: On Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War the logo is in black and white.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Two whooshes and a synth drone.

Availability: Appeared on Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.

2nd Logo (2019-2021)


Visuals: On a black background, particles merge in together to form the Nerve logo, which consists of a smudged hexagon with a letter "n" in it, with a letter "s" inside the "n". The text "n e r v e" appears below.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Whooshing sounds.

Availability: Seen on the 2019 rerelease of Doom and Doom II on Steam.
