The text is written in {{Color|gold|yellow}} in an {{Font|Impact|Impact}} font, with the bottom half of "INK" in {{color|silver}}. After a while, a hammer (which, if you look very closely, can be seen in the reflection on the bottle) falls on top of it and smashes it that causes it to fly everywhere and cover up the screen. It abruptly cuts to the next or splitscreen logo. (yep, the logo cuts to the next logo.)

'''Cheesy Factor:''' How could there be so much ink in that one, tiny bottle? Also, the transition to the next or splitscreen logo is really poorly done. (CLG Wiki, don't delete it, I just want to show the Cheesy Factor from this logo.)

'''Films they don't use this logo:'''

Don't expect this on the company's films, though (they sometimes expect this on those company's films, actually). It was unseen on the 2009 comedy film of ''Hannah Montana: The Movie''. (Do not expect this logo on company's films (and some shows).)

'''Editor's Note:''' While the sound of the bottle breaking can be startling for some people (especially the version without music where it breaks with no warning, which could be jarring to many people), some people may find this logo funny, and it may be favored for fans of ''Smallville'' (and it may also be favored for fans of the short-lived show The Strip and the 2011 version of Charlie's Angels).

Background

Millar Gough Ink is the television and film production company of Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. It was founded in 1997, but they didn't start using a logo until 1999.

1st Logo (October 12, 1999-November 10, 2011)

Nicknames: "Orange-Red Ink", "Ink Bottle Gets the Banhammer", "(silent) SPLAT!!"

Logo: In an office setting, at the forefront, a bottle filled with orange red ink labeled:

MILLAR
GOUGH
INK

in an Impact font, with the bottom half of "INK" colored silver. After a while, a hammer (which, if you look very closely, can be seen in the reflection on the bottle) falls down on top of it and smashes the orange red ink bottle that causes it to fly everywhere and cover up the screen.

Variant: On the short-lived show The Strip, 2003 DVD releases and Channel 4 and E4 airings of season 1 and 4:3 prints of all episodes of Smallville, the logo is shown in fullscreen.

FX/SFX: The hammer smashing the ink bottle, the ink spreading. It's all live-action.

Music/Sounds:

  • 2001-2002: Just the sound of the bottle breaking. The closing theme of the show may also be played before the bottle breaking sound.
  • Early 2002: An odd, short piano tune with an eerie sound effect is played in the background before the bottle breaking sound.
  • 2002-2011: A reverberating cartoon ditty is played in the background before the bottle breaking sound.
  • 1999: On the short-lived show The Strip, there is a different splattering (just the bottle breaking) sound, but without the bottle breaking sound.
  • 2001-2002 Variant: High. On the Smallville season 1 episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug", the logo is silent.
  • On early season 2 episodes of Smallville, the reverberating cartoon ditty is somewhat slightly quieter before the bottle breaking sound appears.

Availability: First seen on the short-lived show The Strip. Also seen on Smallville and the 2011 version of Charlie's Angels. Don't expect this on the company's films, though.

Editor's Note: While the sound of the bottle breaking can be startling for some people (especially the version without music where it breaks with no warning, which could be jarring to many people), some people may find this logo funny, and it may be favored for fans of Smallville.

2nd Logo (November 15, 2015-May 6, 2019)

Logo: On a black background, we see the stacked words "MILLAR GOUGH". To the right of it is a red beaker with a big black drop of ink in it, and inside the drop is the word "INK".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None, or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Into the Badlands and The Shannara Chronicles.

Editor's Note: None.
