Background

Millar Gough Ink is an American television and film production company.

1st Logo (October 12, 1999-November 10, 2011)

Full-screen/Open-matte version only seen on The Strip and some 4:3 prints of Smallville, as well as The WB airings of season 1 of the said show.
Less-cropped version seen on 2003 DVD versions and Channel 4, E4 or ITV2 airings of season 1 of Smallville.
Regular widescreen version mainly seen on most prints of Smallville, as well as seen on the 2006 TV pilot of Aquaman/Mercy Reef and the 2011 remake of Charlie's Angels.

Logo: In an office setting, at the forefront, we see a bottle filled with scarlet ink in it labeled the stacked words reading with the company name in an Impact font colored in gold (the words "MILLAR" and "GOUGH" are in gold), with only the bottom half of the word "INK" in white/silver. After a while, a split-second before the logo ends, a hammer (which can be seen coming down in the bottle's reflection if the viewer looks too very closely) swings down and smashes it that causes the ink in it to spread everywhere, covering up the whole screen.

Variant: There exists an open-matte version of the logo. This can be seen on some 4:3 prints of Smallville and The Strip.

FX/SFX: Live-action animation.

Music/Sounds: Depending on the variant:

2001-2002: Just the sound of the bottle breaking.
February 2002-May 2002: An odd, three-note piano tune.
2002-2011: A reverberating cartoon ditty.

All music variants end with the sound of the bottle breaking sound or a splattering sound.

Music/Sounds Variants:

On the Smallville season 1 episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug", the bottle breaking sound is absent.
On early season 2 episodes of Smallville, the reverberating cartoon ditty is somewhat slightly quieter before the bottle breaking sound appears.
Original airings use a generic theme and a voice over.
On The Strip, the closing theme of the show before the splattering sound.

Availability: Common. First seen on The Strip. Also later seen on Smallville, the 2006 TV pilot of Aquaman and the 2011 reboot of Charlie's Angels.

2nd Logo (November 15, 2015-)

Logo: On a black background, we see the stacked red words "MILLAR GOUGH" in a Helvetica Neue font. To the right of it is a beaker with a black water-drop in it, and inside the water-drop, we see the text "INK".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Into the Badlands, The Shannara Chronicles and Wednesday.
