Background

Millar Gough Ink is an American film and television production company founded by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.



1st Logo (October 12, 1999-November 10, 2011)


Visuals: In an office setting is a bottle filled with scarlet ink. A black label covers the bottom half, containing the company name in Impact, gold, and a stacked format. "INK" has a bottom white gradient. A split-second before the logo ends, a hammer swings down and smashes the bottle, causing the ink to spread everywhere, including covering up the whole screen.

Variant: The logo exists in both a fullscreen and widescreen format.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: It varies, but they usually end with a glass breaking sound.

  • October 12, 1999: After the ending theme of the show, a splattering sound is heard.
  • 1999-2000: The ending theme of the show.
  • October 2001-2002: None.
  • 2001-2002 (Smallville episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug"): Entirely silent.
  • February-May 2002: An odd, three-note piano tune composed by Mark Snow.
  • September 2002-November 10, 2011: A reverberating cartoon ditty again composed by Mark Snow.

Visuals: Over a black background are the stacked words "MILLAR GOUGH". To the right is a red beaker with a big black water-drop in it. Inside the water-drop is "INK".

Audio: None or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Into the Badlands on AMC, The Shannara Chronicles on MTV, and Wednesday on Netflix.
