1st Bumper (June 15, 1994-2005)

Visuals: Over a black background is the following text in the Optima font: "This film has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit your TV."

Variants:

Old TV prints of MGM films often feature this, with the text being expanded to "formatted to fit your TV, and edited for content (and to run in the time allotted)."
On a syndicated print of Fargo, as seen on WDCA UPN 20 in 2001, the text is in a different font.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on some Trifecta-owned Starz movies, a few Paramount titles (e.g. USA's print of Mission: Impossible), and Sony movies. Also seen on older television prints of MGM movies, and VHS editions starting with the 1994 video release of Dangerous Game. The "edited for content (and to run in the time allotted)" version can also be seen on a 1996-99 reprints of Moonstruck and The Cutting Edge. The alternate font version appears on a 2001 VHS reissue of Kingpin (where the text is merely thinner) and the DVDs of Leaving Las Vegas and the 2003 reissue of Escape from New York.

Availability: Seen on some Trifecta-owned Starz movies, a few Paramount titles (e.g. USA's print of Mission: Impossible), and Sony movies. Also seen on older television prints of MGM movies, which are often popping-up on ThisTV (and others) from time to time. The alternate font version appears on the DVDs of Leaving Las Vegas and the 2003 reissue of Escape from New York.

3rd Bumper (2000s-)

Visuals: On a black background is the following text in Arial font: "The following film has been modified from its original version. It has been..."

"...formatted to fit this screen, to run in the time allotted and edited for content."

4th Bumper (2000-)

Visuals: On a black background is the following text in the same font as the current Debmar-Mercury modified screen: "The following film has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit this screen, edited to run in the time allotted and for content."

Variant: On some films like the 2013 syndicated print of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, the screen runs twice as long.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be seen on some current prints of MGM movies as well as on some newer syndicated prints of Lionsgate titles.
