Background

Around 1988, Videoline Productions was renamed Lettuce Entertain You Inc. As with Videoline, the company released dubs of old martial arts films and B-movies. Not much else is known about it, other than it was shut down sometime in the 1990s.

1st Logo (1988)

Visuals: Same as the Videoline Productions logo, except the background is blue, the border is sky blue, the television tube is lime green, and "VIDEOLINE" is replaced with the word "LETTUCE" (a play on the words "Let Us"), along with "P R O D U C T I O N S   I N C" being replaced by "E N T E R T A I N Y O U   I N C ." in brownish red. The word "presents" is also leaf green.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: Same as the Videoline Productions logo.

Availability: Seen on old dubbed martial arts films from Canada and some B-movies such as Bruno Mattei's The Other Hell, Woman Warriors, and Hawaiian Heat.

2nd Logo (1990s?)

Visuals: On a black background, the television tube from before, but larger and with a large gap along the bottom, appears via a square wipe effect downwards. Within the gap, the letters "LETTUCE", in a white Arial font, zoom in one-by-one, followed by "ENTERTAIN YOU INC." flipping in below in the same font. The logo then remains still for several seconds before the logo disappears via the same square wipe effect.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

3rd Logo (1990s?)

Visuals: The screen fades into a wallpaper-like pattern of the green LEY logo on a faded beige background. The background then fades to a midnight blue background with the same LEY logo from before zooming in, but in green, "L E T T U C E" spaced out a bit further and thinner, and "E N T E R T A I N   Y O U   I N C ." is spaced out further and in a smaller print.

Technique: Fading effects and computer animation.

Audio: A soft '70s funk tune.

Availability: It was seen on Toxic Spawn a.k.a Contamination.
