Logo (January 16, 1995–December 4, 1998)

Visuals: After the credits, two puzzle pieces depart the background and fly into the screen, connecting together. One piece has the KCET logo on it, while the other piece is yellow. On the yellow piece is a blue rectangle containing "Lancit" with "ancit" in an italic serif and the "L" is a customized fancy script with its tail extending under "ancit". Below is "MEDIA Entertainment".

Variants:

  • On odd numbered episodes, the yellow piece is on top and the piece with the KCET logo is on the bottom.
    • On even-numbered episodes, the order is reversed; the piece with the KCET logo is on top and the yellow piece is on the bottom.
  • On seasons 1-2, the older KCET logo is used, and "Entertainment" is removed.
  • Episodes from season 3 merely have the screen flipping to reveal the logos already in their place.

Technique: CGI for the first 2 seasons. 2D animation for the 3rd season.

Audio: A synth choir as Julie Woo (played by Alice Dinnean) says "The Puzzle Place is a co-production of KCET, Los Angeles, and Lancit Media, New York."

Audio Variants:

  • On odd-numbered episodes, this is switched.
  • Season 3 has the closing theme playing on it.
  • On 1998-2000 reruns of seasons 1-2, she says the order as one of the following:
    • Odd-numbered episodes: "Lancit Media Entertainment, and KCET, Hollywood."
    • Even-numbered episodes: "KCET, Hollywood, and Lancit Media Entertainment."

Availability: Only seen on The Puzzle Place.
